Nomad Flow
Local-first finance tracking for people who live across countries.
Project overview
Nomad Flow is a mobile finance product designed for digital nomads and remote workers who need simple expense tracking across countries, currencies, accounts, and categories without sending private financial data to a server.
Role and responsibilities
The work covered product thinking, engineering decisions, and practical delivery.
- Mobile product planning
- Flutter app structure
- Local data model
- UX flow planning
- Privacy-focused product logic
- App Store preparation
The challenge
Most personal finance apps are either too heavy for daily use or too tied to one banking region. This product needed to stay private, clear, fast, and useful for users who often change country, currency, and spending context.
The approach
- 01Designed onboarding around country, currency, accounts, starting balances, and categories.
- 02Planned a local-first data model for accounts, transactions, categories, budgets, and analytics.
- 03Created a cleaner mobile navigation model with chat-style transaction entry as the main action.
- 04Prepared light and dark visual systems for a calm finance interface.
- 05Kept server features optional so the first version can work without a backend.
What it delivered
- A practical mobile product direction for privacy-first expense tracking.
- A structure suitable for offline use and later optional sync.
- A cleaner home, analytics, onboarding, accounts, and categories flow.
- A product base prepared for store assets, subscriptions, and future AI assistance.
